Before I created Blogging with Cents, I did countless researches for web hosts. I ultimately went with Bluehost for 2 main reasons–One, they were in the Top 5 of all the reviews I read and two, many of my fellow blogger friends use Bluehost–. I knew if I ran into trouble, I could just ask my questions in the forum and receive numerous responses immediately.
There were some nice alternatives and I thought I would share my top 10 with you just in case you are looking for a web host. (Which, by the way’ switching from blogspot to my own host has been the best thing I’ve done!) I am putting these in order based on reviews, the first one being the best.
HostMonstor–Free setup & domain, cPanel,$5.95~~Probably the best of the best.
StartLogic–Free setup & domain, Vdeck, $4.95~~99.9% Uptime
Bluehost–Free setup & domain, cPanel, $6.95~~Unlimited domains & Excellent Cust. Service
HostGator–Free setup & $15 domain, $9.95~~Unlimited domains…quality hosting
LunarPages–Free setup & domain, Free domain for life, $6.95~~The BEST Cust. Service
Godaddy–Free setup & domain, $6.95~~Top pick for novices
Honorable Mentions:
EasyCGI
iPowerWeb
1and1

Hi, thanks again for providing this link for me to ocmpare hosts. You’ve made it so much easier for me and I really appreciate it :)
You bet! If you have any other questions, just holler or ask in the forum. Everyone in there is super nice!
I’m on HostPC and I love it. $35 a year for unlimited domains, 5 GB server space and 50 GB bandwidth per month. Their customer service is top notch and they’ve upped my quotas twice in the two years I’ve been with them (for free).
Also, they’ve got a great uptime guarantee (although they are up all the time, so they very rarely get any claims against their guarantee…)
I’ve never even heard of HostPC. I’ll have to check it out and possibly add it to the list. Thanks for the input.

Hmm… I started my blog in bloggers, then 5xmom recommended my current host, and I’m sticking on to him. Somewhat, I’m not adventurous to try out other hosts. But thanks for providing this list. I know where to check out next time, if I want to change my host!
Well most of the hosts u mentioned are also my top 10. ?But not in the same order :)
Seems like you’re having a lot of luck with this host. I’m using Hostgator and it’s really good too :)

I moved to Bluehost. They have the most helpful customer service. They aren’t afraid to help me figure things out.
Thanks for sharing! I’m going to change my hoster! I love such reviews. I became your RSS subscriber.
Great resource, that was wonderful of you to do that! I hosted my very first website through StartLogic, and for me, it was a TOTAL nightmare! When I needed to contact customer support I got some very rude replies back telling me the problem was on my end when I had provided proof that it wasn’t.
I ended up moving over to DreamHost and canceled my account before the year was up and StartLogic turned around and charged my credit card for another year of hosting after I had canceled the account. When I emailed them telling them that I no longer had an account with them and wanted them to refund my money I once again got a very rude reply and was told that it would take up to 30 days to credit the amount back to my credit card.
I’m THRILLED with Dreamhost and host a total of 5 domains and 1 sub-domain with them. I’m on my 2nd year of hosting with them and have no plans on ever going elsewhere. So please consider adding DreamHost to your review!
