Okay, so you’re fixing to write up a post and you’re blog surfing, looking for posts that relate to the topic YOU are planning to write about–Have you ever done this; wrote your post and then realized it sounded exactly like that other blogger’s post? I’m sure you have so I suggest a couple of things.
Yes, I realize this is quite the opposite of what you normally hear, but by doing this you will get your own creative juices flowing and will end up with an original post of your own. This will also make you think for yourself. You won’t be persuaded by other blogger’s thoughts on that particular subject and you will be forced to create your own opinion.
I’m sure you recognize the phrase. By reading other blogs, you will find yourself blogging about what everyone else is blogging about. BORING! Yes there will be times to get the post out that’s the talk of the blogosphere but for the most part, people don’t want to read the same thing over and over again. You should concentrate on writing a post that YOU would want to read.
Another well known phrase. You know what I’m talking about…they get a new theme, so you get a new them. They hold a contest, so you hold a contest. Just be yourself and don’t try to be them. A perfect example of this would be 5xmom. She is brutally honest and opinionated and while this may strike a nerve with people, it is also a big reason why she has the readership she does. She does and says what she wants, when she wants. Whether or not you agree or disagree doesn’t even matter, chances are, you will go back for more;) This makes her a prime example of #3 under Adjective.
Do your research, use a notepad to jot down ideas, and think for yourself. Be a leader, not a follower.

[...] I hate posts that have no opinions. I hate people sitting on fences too. If you dislike something, say it. Give your valid reasons and no one is going to burn your doggie. Otherwise, just keep the mouth shut and find something else that you have an opinion on. Like which dog food is good for your doggies and not try to discuss about the latest SERPs or SEOs. Your post just give me the impression that you are an old aunt mumbling about her glorious past aka boring, heard that kind of stuffs.
