“Tyler Cruz, he’s no sham….
he gets my vote, ’cause he’s da man!”
Okay, that was extremely lame but I never said I was cool, you know!
Tyler’s having a contest with his blogging friend over at WinningTheWeb.com to see who gets the most “votes” by getting bloggers to blog about one of them–just like I’m doing now.
Just in case you’re a complete idiot and still trying to figure out who my vote is for, you can rest your little brain because it’s Tyler. WHY did I choose Tyler? Oh, let me count the reason….1,2,3,4,5,6….100,138,…..
I first saw the name ‘Tyler Cruz’ on a newly found friend’s blogroll and decided to click on it. I was thinking, “hey, that’s my son’s name”. Then it took me to this post and the first thing I noticed (besides
him being a cutie) was the orange old sofa and the check. All I could think about was my old gold and orange couch with flowers all over it and how if I had a check like that, the first thing I would do, is head to the furniture store! As I read on, I was very surprised to learn what he would do with his check. Considering he’s such a young man, I thought for sure he would use a good chunk to have a little fun (poker maybe?) but..nope! Instead he put it away to pay taxes. The point is, is that it showed me that he was a normal guy (with an ugly couch) just like everybody else but is doing something great and is obviously very smart. I was hooked like stink on stinkbait :D Quickly I learned that he has some VERY well-written reviews. You can tell that he puts a lot of thought in what he writes and actually does research before giving his review. There is length in his review. He doesn’t sit there for 6 minutes to write a 75 word review with the same words that are found on the ‘about me’ page, he really puts his heart in it. The same goes for his posts–they are not too long and not too short. All the important information is covered but with just enough personality that something in the post will make your do one of those half grins. There’s not any boredom involved either. I think some bloggers trying to write really good posts, end up putting the reader to sleep or giving such a brain overload that the reader is just sitting there going, “uh, uh, umm…what?”
We have a few things in common, me and Tyler. He’s in love with food. I am too!!…you can look at me and tell that! And I don’t watch World Poker Tour for nothing;) I LOVE tennis which is somewhat related to badmitton?..lol. Sorry, I don’t mean to laugh but badmitton???
This is why I am voting for Tyler AND why he deserves to win. I would like to add though, the other guy looked to have some good posts and has gained a new reader;)
If you don’t enter the contest, you should atleast subscribe to his blog!
P.S. Hey Tyler, did you ever get a new couch?

Hey Lori,
Cool blog you have here. Well you voted for Tyler but it’s okay no hard feelings. This should be a very interesting battle. Thanks for taking part!

I hope you scrolled to the bottom of the post. I may not have voted for you but you did gain a reader and that’s more important;)
Thanks for the vote – good Karma for you.
A few notes – I still have that orange couch. It’s about 2 feet away from me right now in my office. It’s ugly, and I love it. It’s very comfortable.
But wait! There’s more! My living room has a much (arguable) uglier couch… with a floral pattern: http://www.tylercruz.com/tyler/coffee2/
Hey Tyler,
You’re so funny! I can’t believe you have an entire floral set AND the orange one..lol. At least I know you’re not materialistic! That says a lot about you. Oh, and do you play that piano?
Well, while I may not be materialistic, ever since I bought this condo I’ve been a crazy neat freak (as you can probably tell by the photos). I arrange all my glasses in perfect alignment and spacing between them (OCD), keep clutter to a minimum, etc. It’s kind of funny really.
But yeah, I’ve had SO many people beg me to buy a new couch, but I refuse! I hold my ground! It serves its purpose.. both of them are quite comfortable, albeit ugly.
But I’d rather be on a comfortable couch than a brand new uncomfortable one. And I don’t like the thought of shelling out $1500-$6000 for a new couch just for aethetics.

I did notice the OCD behavior :cuckoo:
Just kiddin’! I think we all have a little bit of that in us. For example: I’m very bad about filing every single piece of paper and my desk has to stay exactly how I have it!..lol.
I don’t blame you for not dishing out the dough on a new sofa, especially if yours is comfortable. You can just say that you’re going for the 70’s old lady look =))
