Sitehoppin’ with Beer

While checking my feedburner stats this week, I noticed I have been receiving some steady traffic from this site called SiteHoppin’.  I’ve never heard of it so I decided to investigate.  When you arrive at the home page, the first thing you notice is the 2 giant beer bottles.

Why are they there and what do they mean?

According to the site:

SiteHoppin’ - Verb 1. - To go from one site to the next with a beer in your hand and get progressively more “happy” and enjoy interesting websites with a click of a button.

To visit random sites, you simply click on the beer bottle and you’ll be hoppin’ from site to site. 

When I first read the introduction, it reminded me of StumbleUpon.  You’re basically hoppin’ through sites rating with beers on a scale of 1 to 5.  I was very curious  on how many beers my blog had.

As you can see, out of 7 beers on the wall (7 people that rated me), I was rated a 4.3 out of 5.  Not too bad for a ranch blog!  I don’t have a clue how my site got rated in the first place or who has voted but I am pleased with the traffic I’ve been receiving from them.  So thank you to whoever submitted my blog and gave me good ratings!! 

Sitehoppin’ clearly states that they are under development at the moment and that features are being added daily.  They have a long ways from being the next StumbleUpon but have potential.

    Thanks for sharing, heading over now to submit my site. Bar hopping we can only do after office hour, but site hopping, we can do during office hour!
