Recommended Backup Solution

Critiqued by Cowboytf | January 22, 2008 .

The last thing you want, is to suddenly lose everything you have saved on your computer.  Trust me, I’ve been there.  It’s always a good idea to have some kind of backup plan and actually DO it!  You can buy an external hard drive or perhaps just backup to dvd but I definitely suggest you give Backup Platinum a try.

One of the features that I love about this program, is that you can backup your files and ftp them.  Why would you care about that?  Well, there are many reasons but I’ll give you one example relating to my own personal experience.

When my computer started acting up, one of the things I was unable to use was my dvd drive.  Because of this, I had to put as much information I could on my USB miniDrive.  It took forever but it was my only choice and even then, I didn’t save everything.  If the FTP option were available, I would have been able to upload everything and nothing would have been lost.

Some other features:

  • The download is just under 4meg which makes for easy downloading.
  • You have choices on what gets backed-up.  Files, registry keys, ect.
  • Backup locally, FTP them, or write them to a CD/DVD.
  • 30 day trial
  • Much, much more!

If you are technically challenged like myself, you will find that this program is EXTREMELY user friendly. You can’t go wrong with the wizard!

It’s fast and relatively inexpensive.  I can honestly recommend this product.  If you’re like me, you probably think that nothing will happen and all your computer info is saved…..until it does.  Then what?
