Adsense Alternatives

Critiqued by Cowboytf | January 29, 2008 .

Many people, especially newbies, think that Google is their only alternative to adsense but it’s not.  People that were smacked by Google are also scrambling for alternatives.  There are quite a few out there, some better than others but all good alternatives.  Google’s terms and conditions are strict making it hard to incorporate other adsense/advertising programs.  For this reason, I have compiled a list of alternatives geared towards the smaller publishers like myself.

  • *BIDVERTISER* — I use bidvertiser here on my blog as you will see in my sidebars.  I have always had great success with them in the advertising and publisher fields. You are able to customize the look and feel of your text ads easily.  Their threshold is much easier to reach than Google’s too.  Payout is reached at $50 for a check or $10 for paypal.
  • *YAHOO PUBLISHER NETWORK* –  Google’s competitor has released their own version  and it seems to be doing extremely well.  YPN, basically, will have the same type of terms as Google with a payment threshold of $100 so I prefer not to use them.
  • *CLICKSOR* — Clicksor is probably the best choice for the smaller publishers.  You can actually earn an income with the high cost per click payouts. The payment schedule with Clicksor is also much better.   In any pay period in which your earnings exceed $50.00 ($20.00 with PayPal), payments are made either by check or instantly through PayPal ($20.00 minimum for PayPal). Revenue totaling less that $50 (PP $20) will rolled into the following period. The pay period is based on a 15 day schedule so you can get paid much more frequently. Clicksor also do not require a Social Security (SSN) or Individual Tax Identity Number (ITIN) to join and so while this ‘technically’ does not help US site owners with their tax liability it does make it much easier for non US citizens to join up and start earning revenue.

Some others up for consideration:

Thanks for offering up some altermatives; it is very helpful. I have yet to reach the 100 payment level for google so these others may be a good alternative. I guess the real issue is my readership level, but this will help!

    Hi—Lori:

Clicksor sounds interesting, do you use it?

How is the relevancy to conent, is it just as good as Google as far as relevancy match? I might try this one, let me know.
