I also did a guest post if you are looking for a niche you like and that pays.

Beatrice, most people recommend choosing something that interests you. But that can be hard enough in itself. I love cooking, but don't think there's much scope for making cash out of cooking tips. Especially if the writer is no good at it!

Jon's last blog post..Don't be a Stranger!

I think finding our niche is the most difficult part. Do you have any tip for this?

Very simplified, I like this article. It is unfortunate that blogging is so much harder than it sounds with maintenence and the need to turn out new material week after week.... but getting on your way is really just a matter of determination :)

I was hoping for tips on increasing my success rate on directory approvals. The directories that I've been approved for in the past have been of such low quality that it wasn't the effort.

Most of my link building in the past has been via friends and the DP COOP network. However, the DP COOPY network doesn't work too well anymore, and my friends mostly have Poker Blogs, which are a niche I'm trying to expand away from.

Jon's last blog post..Ticking Away, Free Website Review

It's actually quite hard to get listed at DMOZ but it's worth it to keep trying. Everywhere else is fairly simple.

How easy is it to get a new blog listed somewhere like dmoz? From past and experience, and what I've read on forums, it seems very hard.

Any tips on how I can improve my success rate would be appreciated.
