5 Ways to Create an Ebook

Critiqued by Cowboytf | April 1, 2008 .

Thre is money to be made with ebooks but only if done the right way and with useful information.  Take Caroline’s ebook for example, she just reported that most of her earnings were due (in large part) to that ebook. It’s well written and provides that useful information I mentioned earlier.

I have an ebook planned myself.  It’s really for the noobs that haven’t even started blogging but I think it will be successful, or at least I hope!

WAYS TO CREATE AN EBOOK TO SELL!

1. YOU WRITE IT

The first way is to create it yourself.  For some people this is an easy task - for others, they can’t stand the thought of sitting at their computer typing for hours on end (like my sister-in-law).

When you create an ebook, you don’t need too worry that much about style - just deliver tons of content and REAL useful information. Write just like you talk. People will probably like it better because it’s personable - it’s you.

Your Outline is the Key

Spending a little time creating your outline first, will make writing an ebook much easier. Using the outline, you simply go in and just add a little “meat” to the bones. If you can write a 500-700 word article/post, you can create an ebook.

Creating your outline first makes you clearly think about each of the topics you’ll cover and it helps put them in a logical order. Believe me, it HELPS A LOT!  It’s just like school folks!

2. GHOSTWRITER/FREELANCE WRITERS

Do you realize how many people out there want to write so they can earn some money.   For real folks! You can find ghostwriters in a publication at your library, as well as, online categories called ‘freelance writers’. These are professional writers who will do the work for you based on your notes and/or research. You can hire them either by page, or by job. It’s simply up to you.  If you can afford this, I would do it.

3. LICENSE MATERIAL

You can purchase a license from ther author or copyright owner to sell the product. This is known as a resale license. There are different types of licenses. There are ones where you pay a royalty ot the author and there are others when you won the resale rights fully and keep 100% of the selling price!

Before you rush off to purchase a license, think about the market first. Many times the product your are licensing has seen better days and ends up being completely saturated.

4. PUBLIC DOMAIN INFORMATION

This is neato. There is tons of info that has fallen into the public domain or is publicly available with no copyright at all. Always double check but lots of government publications are free and available to be reprinted.

Not only can you use most publications but also certain books, depending on how old there are…they may have lost their copyright, which means they are up for grabs and for everyone’s use.

5. INTERVIEW THE EXPERTS

Let’s say you don’t think that you know enough information about a certain topic you’re writing on. No problemo folks! You just get a few experts, interview them, transcribe and compile the info. Viola, easy as pie.

If using audio interviews as your project, simply edit them (yourself or have it done) and turned into digital audio!!

Now go and find a topic to make your ebook about. It can be anything…crafting, making money, photography, drug treatment, recipes, pets, etc.
