Twitteriffic!

Okay, raise your hands….how many of you know what Twitter is?? Yep, that’s what I thought…not too many. Well, it’s basically a way to communicate with people in a chat like manner and while I wasn’t fond of it at first, I have grown to enjoy it a great deal. I’ve been able to communicate with MANY, MANY people through this.

When you first join Twitter, you’re gonna be a lonesome gal or fella and you’ll need to “follow” people. In return, you’ll gain followers. For example: I have many blogger friends so the first thing I did is to find one of my friends (they usually use their common username or their blog name, or their name) and started “following” her. Then I looked at her friends to see if I knew any of them and started following them. You kinda feel like a stalker at first but you have to get started somehow. When you follow somebody, you are following their conversations. You can only see the people’s conversations that you are following.

Okay, so I can’t really explain it very well but it’s fun, it’s a great way to network and I’m loving it. You can also download a desktop application called Twhirl. It’s what I use and it I can use right at my desktop without having to be at the Twitter site which I love. In fact, I probably wouldn’t twitter much if I didn’t have that!
