Many times I get asked “How do you do it all?” All meaning work from home, raise kids, do housework, be a wife, you know all that jazz. Well, honestly, all of it doesn’t get done. That’s just the honest truth, something is going to slack a little, but if it didn’t I’d be Wonder Woman and I’d be seriously burnt out. So, how does a work at home mom avoid burnout?
First, you’ve gotta have some time for yourself. Whether it’s a nice steamy bubble bath at night, or a trip to the store alone, having time by yourself to just breath is going to do you a lot of good. So, carving out some time in your day or at least your week can go a long way to reducing your chances of burning out.
Then, you have to remember to take a break. I know we all do it, we get caught up in our work, the housework, and everything else and we don’t even take five minutes to just take a break. Schedule in break times like you would in a normal workday. This will help you to be much more productive and to think more clearly.
Another thing that can help to avoid burnout is to set some goals. Setting goals helps you to know what you’re aiming for and you will feel a sense of accomplishment when you achieve them. This will help you to realize you really are getting things done even when it seems like you’re just spinning your wheels.
The life of a work at home mom can be challenging, but giving yourself a break every once in a while, and doing these few things for you will help.

I remember when I thought I could get everything done…Oh what a crazy time that was. I’m still like that in many respects, but because it’s just the boyfriend and I, I feel that it is fine to simply focus on the working from home, together time and alne time and let him worry about the household chores because that’s how it works when one person works, right? It is definitely so very important to take some time out for yourself and otherwise, kiss a few days out of your “work week” goodbye because you will be seriously burnt out!
